We love live and local music. Last year, we took over Maggie Mae’s down on Sixth Street. This year, we had LighterMate ambassadors all over the place. South By has truly become a thing of beauty with people from all over the world flocking to Austin for a week of musical mayhem.
There is no place like Austin if you’re looking for live music. That’s why it’s billed as the Live Music Capital of the World. This is especially true during South By where you’ll find musicians playing on every stage imaginable: bars, grocery stores, street corners, parking lots. Literally, there is music everywhere. Certainly, there is more to Austin than good live music, and SXSW has done its part to bring the film and entertainment industry here as well. It has proven to be a great city for interactive entertainment, and we’re pretty stoked to see how we can work to mix this with the music pulsing through Austin’s veins. We’ll be spending even more time in this amazing city in the weeks to come. Soon, Mate will officially call Austin home and, quite frankly, we can’t think of a better city to focus on capturing the world of live music.
